From Puncture Repair to Animal Rescue: The Inspiring Journey of Peeraram Dhayal

In a heartwarming tale of compassion and dedication, Piraram Dhayal's journey from running a puncture repair shop to becoming a guardian of Rajasthan's wildlife is nothing short of inspiring. Initiating his rescue efforts in 1998, Dhayal's commitment to caring for injured animals has transformed countless lives and earned him widespread admiration.

Formerly serving in the CRPF, Dhayal's transition from a military career to animal rescue began in 1995 when he left his job to pursue farming in his village, Deora. To sustain himself, he opened a puncture repair shop in Sanchore, commuting daily on his motorcycle, covering around 45 kilometers. It was during these journeys that he witnessed the plight of injured animals on the roadside, prompting him to take action.

Rooted in the principles of the Vishnoi Community, advocating for animal welfare and environmental preservation, Dhayal's sense of duty towards living beings spurred him into action. Witnessing the distressing scenes of animals injured in road accidents, often with their offspring lingering around, compelled him to start rescuing them.

Since then, Dhayal's efforts have only gained momentum. Over the years, he has saved a remarkable 3500 animals, dedicating four hours every morning to their care. His routine involves treating and rescuing animals, ensuring their recovery, and releasing them back into the forest.

The turning point came when Dhayal, along with his wife Parudevi, encountered a tragic accident involving a female deer. Taking the orphaned fawn home, they nursed it back to health, a deeply moving experience that fueled their determination to devote themselves entirely to animal rescue.

Supported by his family and various organizations, Dhayal's impact continues to grow. Recently, when a female monkey faced complications during childbirth in Sanchore, Dhayal's swift response and collaboration with a doctor saved both the mother and her offspring.

Piraram Dhayal's unwavering dedication serves as a beacon of hope for Rajasthan's injured wildlife, embodying the spirit of compassion and selflessness. His journey from a humble repairman to a wildlife savior is a testament to the transformative power of empathy and action.
