Greenevon Bio Bottles: Revolutionizing Plastic Waste with Sugarcane-Based Biodegradable Bottles

Delhi-based innovators Nikhil Kumar and Chintan Prajapati have launched Greenevon Bio Bottles, a startup producing plastic-like items using sugarcane. These biodegradable products decompose in just 180 days. Despite India's ban on single-use plastics, plastic waste remains a significant problem, with approximately 2.8 lakh tonnes of plastic bottle waste going uncollected annually. Greenevon Bio Bottles aims to combat this issue with eco-friendly solutions.

Nikhil Kumar, driven by a lifelong concern for environmental issues and a passion for entrepreneurship, transitioned from various business ventures to focus on creating a sustainable alternative to plastic. Teaming up with Chintan Prajapati in 2021, they co-founded Greenevon Bio Bottles and developed a biodegradable bottle that looks and feels like plastic but is entirely plant-based and environmentally friendly.

The innovative bottle is made using sugarcane, which offers remarkable stretch ratio, durability, and transparency. Through extensive research and trials, Nikhil and Chintan refined the bottle to withstand different temperatures and environmental conditions. The bottle is stable up to 55 degrees Celsius, has zero polycarbonate leaking, and can be molded into various shapes to hold liquids, semi-liquids, pharmaceuticals, dairy products, and solid foods.

While the bottles are currently more expensive than single-use plastic bottles, Greenevon Bio Bottles is working to make them more affordable. The company is in contact with several eco-conscious companies interested in their product and aims to launch it in Indian markets within the next four months.

Reflecting on his journey, Nikhil emphasizes his motivation to innovate and create something eco-conscious, driven by passion rather than market concerns. Greenevon Bio Bottles represents a significant step towards reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable alternatives in everyday use.
