Atiqa Mir, a nine-year-old racing sensation from Kashmir, has etched her name in motorsports history by becoming the first female racer to win a race at the prestigious Le Mans Kart International circuit. Competing in Race 2 of the Micro Max category at the Rotax Challenge International Trophy (RMCIT), Atiqa's victory marks a significant milestone for female racers worldwide.

The RMCIT is renowned for attracting the world's top karting talent, including former and current world champions. Despite it being Atiqa's first visit to the Le Mans circuit with no prior practice, she quickly adapted to her new Lando Norris kart, driving for the championship-winning Dan Holland Racing Team. Throughout the week, she consistently set the pace in practice sessions, topping the grid. Although she managed only 10th place in Times Qualifying due to an unclear lap, her determination never wavered.

In Qualifying Heat 1, Atiqa showcased her resilience by gaining four places up to 6th, but a racing incident caused her to drop to 9th position. However, it was in Race 2 that Atiqa truly shined. Displaying a masterclass in speed and strategy, she clocked fast lap times and executed precise overtakes to secure the top spot. Competing against 36 drivers in her category and 318 participants from 40 nations across all classes, her achievement is even more remarkable.

Atiqa's historic win at Le Mans cements her position as the best female karting driver in her age group globally. Next month, she will compete at the world-famous Kartmasters in the UK. Additionally, she is a nominee for the Iron Dames Young Talent event in Italy, being one of only 11 girls worldwide, the only Asian, and the youngest among the shortlisted candidates.

Reflecting on her victory, Atiqa expressed her excitement and joy: "I'm so excited and happy to win the race! This is my first win in Europe, and it's a result of all our hard work. I hope to keep this momentum going and bring even more glory to India!"

Atiqa Mir's triumph at Le Mans not only highlights her exceptional talent but also inspires a new generation of female racers worldwide.
