Rescuing 10,000 Girls: Pallabi Ghosh's Heroic Fight Against Trafficking in Assam

Pallabi Ghosh, a native of Lumding, Assam, has dedicated her life to rescuing children from the clutches of trafficking and providing them with hope for a better future. Her journey began with a pivotal moment in Kolkata, where the cries of a father searching for his missing daughter ignited a fire within her. Since then, she has tirelessly worked to combat child trafficking, eventually founding the Impact and Dialogue Foundation.

The incident in Kolkata in 2002 served as a catalyst for Pallabi's lifelong mission. Witnessing the desperate search for a lost child, she was shocked by the prevalence of such cases and the ease with which children could disappear. Determined to understand and address this issue, Pallabi began her quest for answers, starting with investigations at railway stations in Assam. Here, she encountered children fluent in languages foreign to the region, revealing the grim reality of trafficking networks extending across state borders.

Driven by her findings, Pallabi joined an organization in Delhi dedicated to combating child trafficking. A pivotal moment came when she volunteered for a rescue mission and experienced firsthand the impact of intervention. Recognizing the need for not just rescue but also rehabilitation, she founded the Impact and Dialogue Foundation in 2020.

Despite facing numerous challenges, including her own battle with COVID-19, Pallabi's foundation has made significant strides in empowering and educating girls from vulnerable communities. Through programs and workshops, she has reached out to thousands of women, raising awareness and preventing cases of child marriage and trafficking. Additionally, the foundation offers skill-building programs and support for survivors, enabling them to reclaim control of their lives and pursue their dreams.

Pallabi's unwavering dedication has transformed the lives of countless girls, offering them a second chance at freedom and opportunity. Despite the risks and threats she faces, she finds solace in the gratitude of those she has rescued. For Pallabi Ghosh, the journey is far from over, but each flower she receives from a grateful survivor reaffirms the importance of her mission.
