"Rohit Sharma Creates Milestone: First Cricketer to Achieve Five Centuries in T20I Cricket"

In a stunning display at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Rohit Sharma has etched his name in history by becoming the first cricketer to achieve five centuries in T20 international cricket. The Indian skipper's remarkable innings of 121 not out during the third T20I against Afghanistan in Bengaluru showcased his prowess as a leader and a batsman.

Facing a challenging situation with India at 22 for four after opting to bat, Rohit, along with Rinku Singh (69 not out), orchestrated a spectacular recovery, forming an unbeaten fifth-wicket partnership of 190 runs. Despite the early setbacks, Rohit showcased both restraint and brilliance, including a rare reverse sweep to unsettle the Afghan spinners.

The innings featured trademark Rohit shots, including a memorable on-one-leg pull that sailed into the second tier off pacer Mohammed Saleem. Rohit's century, achieved in 63 balls, marked his first T20I hundred since 2018 and became his highest score in the format, surpassing his previous best of 118 against Sri Lanka in 2017.

While Rohit anchored the innings, Rinku played his role with maturity, contributing a valuable 69 not out. The duo's partnership propelled India to a massive total of 212 for 4. However, the top-order collapse earlier in the innings highlighted the pitfalls of India's aggressive T20 approach.

Despite the setbacks, Rohit's sublime performance and strategic hitting in the latter part of the innings led India to collect 182 runs in the remaining 14 overs, with 93 coming in the last five overs as the team shifted into overdrive.

Rohit Sharma's historic achievement in T20I cricket adds another feather to his illustrious cap, reaffirming his status as one of the game's modern-day greats. Congratulations to the 'Hitman' on this extraordinary feat!
