"Seema Seth's NGO Initiative: Sending 400 Underprivileged Kids to School"

In an inspiring tale of grassroots initiative, Seema Seth's NGO, Nayi Disha, has changed the lives of over 400 underprivileged children, all catalyzed by a conversation with an auto driver.

Seema Seth, a veteran of the corporate world, found herself drawn to education after leaving her career behind. Her journey took a significant turn when a conversation with an auto driver, Mahendra, led to the inception of Nayi Disha in 2014.

Driven by Mahendra's suggestion to open a school for children in slum clusters, Seth took action. Within weeks, a space was secured in Harijan Colony, Gurugram, where Nayi Disha began with 35 children. Since then, the NGO has flourished, now educating over 100 kids across eight rooms, covering a range of subjects from English to theatre.

The impact of Nayi Disha extends beyond academics; it's about instilling confidence and a love for learning. Through initiatives like theatre sessions, children are encouraged to express themselves and overcome shyness.

Despite challenges like student retention, Seth remains committed. Nayi Disha not only provides education but also prepares students for mainstream schooling through entrance tests into public schools. Regular teacher trainings and parent-teacher meetings ensure quality education delivery.

Funding remains a challenge, but Seth's unwavering belief in the cause keeps Nayi Disha going. The journey, fueled by Mahendra's simple request, is a testament to the power of grassroots efforts in transforming communities and fulfilling dreams.
