Three Friends Transform Bengaluru School, Empowering Generations Through Education

For the past 15 years, the Gubbalala Higher Primary School in Bengaluru has been a testament to transformation and hope, thanks to the dedicated efforts of three friends who co-founded the Tranquil Charitable Foundation (TCF). What began as an initiative sparked by Srinivasan N's morning runs past the school has grown into a project that has tripled enrollment, improved infrastructure, and provided pathways for students to pursue higher education.

Srinivasan N, whose roots trace back to a humble upbringing in Mumbai’s chawls, partnered with Sriram Visvanathan and Srinivas Padmanabharao to adopt the school under Karnataka’s ‘Shale Dattu Yojana’ scheme. They introduced essential facilities, including a library, a computer lab, and a garden, and employed qualified teachers and volunteers to maintain a supportive 1:10 teacher-student ratio.

Under TCF’s guidance, students like Pavan Kalyan discovered newfound confidence in learning. From once dreading school, Pavan now pursues a PhD in Physics. His story exemplifies how education, bolstered by TCF’s mentorship and support beyond Class 7, can redefine futures and empower entire families.

TCF’s holistic approach extends to after-school programs, financial aid for college fees, and mentorship that bridges students to higher education and careers. Today, many alumni contribute back, some even donating their first paycheck to the foundation in gratitude. Over 1,000 students have benefited, with many breaking the cycle of poverty and entering fields like engineering, medicine, and finance.

The friends' vision, driven by personal experiences and a shared belief in education as a transformative force, aims to inspire others to take up similar initiatives to foster meaningful change in more communities.
