At 76 years old, Golla Vijayasree Gupta has emerged as a beacon of inspiration, captivating the world with her extraordinary achievements in veteran swimming competitions. Her journey is a powerful testament to perseverance and passion, proving that age is no barrier to pursuing one's dreams.


A graduate of Madras University and a mother of three, Vijayasree embarked on her swimming journey relatively late in life, starting at the age of 40 when she accompanied her youngest daughter to swimming lessons. Initially keeping her newfound interest under wraps, she eventually garnered unwavering support from her family, encouraging her to pursue serious training at the age of 52.


Her dedication bore fruit when she began competing in national events within the 45-50 age group. In 2007, Vijayasree Gupta clinched an impressive three gold medals at the New Jersey Senior Olympic Championship, marking the beginning of a string of successes.


Beyond her aquatic triumphs, Vijayasree Gupta is a multifaceted personality. As an entrepreneur and social activist, she has made significant contributions, hosting programs such as Yuva Vani and Vanitha Vani on All India Radio (AIR), Vijayawada, for over 13 years.


Vijayasree Gupta cherishes the recognition she has garnered throughout her career and continues to inspire countless individuals with her unwavering dedication and passion for swimming.
